Roofer in Botley
I cover Botley, North Hinksey, Cumnor Hill and Dean Court on the west side of Oxford, for semi and bungalow roofs, gutters and fascias, and flat roofs over garages.
No call-out charge, day or night
As a roofer covering Botley, I work on the semis and bungalows of Botley, Dean Court and Elms Rise, the larger houses up Cumnor Hill, and the old village of North Hinksey. Much of this area was built from the 1930s on, and the jobs it tends to need are new gutters and fascias, flat roofs and re-roofs. I'm Altin Lila of Alto Roofing, roofing since 2015.

Botley's semis and bungalows, and North Hinksey village
Botley grew up along the main road west out of Oxford, which has run through it since the 16th century. It was in Berkshire until 1974, and it's still outside the city: Botley is in the Vale of White Horse district, in the parish of Botley and North Hinksey. Major building began in the 1930s, and much of today's Botley, Dean Court and Elms Rise dates from then and the post-war years. Up Cumnor Hill the houses get larger.
So most roofs here are on 20th-century semis and bungalows. A bungalow puts a lot of roof over a small house, often at a gentle pitch, with long runs of gutter along the eaves. Where the fascias behind those gutters are still the original timber, they often rot, and the gutter starts to sag and drip down the wall. See guttering, fascias and soffits. Flat roofs over garages and extensions are common too, and tired felt is the usual weak point: see flat roofing.
North Hinksey village is different again: a small conservation area around St Lawrence's church, with a handful of listed buildings. Old roofs there should be repaired to match.
I cover all of Botley and North Hinksey and usually come and look the next day. The visit is free, day or night.

Questions from Botley and North Hinksey
Do you cover Botley and North Hinksey?
Yes, I cover Botley and North Hinksey, and the streets around them: Cumnor Hill, Dean Court, Elms Rise and the edge of Osney. Being outside the city boundary makes no difference, as I work across the whole of Oxfordshire. Send me your postcode and a photo of the roof on WhatsApp, 07306 077999.
Do you work on bungalow roofs?
Yes. I repair and re-roof bungalows, and replace their gutters, fascias and soffits. A bungalow's roof is low, but it's often large for the house and set at a gentle pitch, which matters: every tile has a minimum pitch it's made for, so when a bungalow is re-roofed the new tile has to suit the slope.
Which council do I ask about roof work in Botley?
The Vale of White Horse District Council, not Oxford City Council. Botley and North Hinksey sit just outside the city boundary, so questions about a listed building, the North Hinksey conservation area or planning permission go to the Vale. When I replace a flat roof, I help you with the building control notification.
