Roofer in Headington
I repair chimneys, slipped tiles and storm damage on Headington's semis and stone cottages, from Old Headington out to Barton, and I've already fixed roofs in OX3.
Chimney and storm repairs done in OX3, January 2025
As a roofer in Headington, I work across OX3, from the 1930s semis off the London Road to the stone cottages of Old Headington and Headington Quarry. Two of my jobs in OX3 were in January 2025: a chimney leak that had come back after another roofer's repair, and tiles a gale had blown off. I'm Altin Lila, roofing since 2015.

Headington's houses and the roofs on them
Headington roughly doubled in size between the wars, when the Cowley car works brought thousands of people to Oxford. Council houses went up along the London Road and Barton Road in the early 1920s, Risinghurst was built privately from the early 1930s, and Barton's larger estate followed after the war. So much of OX3 is semis with hipped tiled roofs and one chimney stack shared on the party wall. Ageing tiles, old ridge mortar and a stack two households share are the usual story.
The older parts are different. Old Headington and Headington Quarry are both conservation areas: Quarry's cottages sit on the old stone pits, many built of the stone dug there, and Old Headington keeps its stone walls and houses going back centuries. Repairs there should suit the building, and some may need the council's say first. See my heritage roofing page.
Then there are the hospitals. The John Radcliffe, the Churchill and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre are all in OX3, and plenty of houses nearby are let to staff. Landlords: my landlords page explains how I work with tenants and agents.
- OX3, January 2025: a chimney leak had come back after another roofer worked on it. I fixed it and guaranteed my repair.
- OX3, January 2025: wind had blown tiles off a roof, and I got there quickly to replace them.
I cover all of Headington and OX3. For planned work I usually look the next day; for an emergency I'm usually there in about an hour.

Questions from Headington
Have you done roofing jobs in Headington?
I've done roofing jobs in OX3, the postcode district Headington sits in, which also takes in Marston, Barton and Risinghurst. In January 2025 I fixed a chimney leak there that another roofer's repair hadn't stopped, and the same month I replaced tiles a gale had blown off a roof.
Do you cover Old Headington, Risinghurst and Barton?
Yes, all three, and the rest of OX3: Highfield, Headington Quarry, New Headington, Sandhills and Marston too. The roofs differ a lot between them. Old Headington's stone houses sit in a conservation area, Risinghurst is mostly 1930s semis, and Barton is a post-war estate, so I come and look before I quote.
Can you work on a rented house near the John Radcliffe or the Churchill?
Yes. I work for landlords and letting agents as well as homeowners, and I arrange access directly with tenants. That helps with houses let to hospital staff on shifts, where the visit has to fit around the tenant. The landlords page has the details.
