Roofer in Kidlington
I cover Kidlington, Yarnton and Begbroke for the jobs post-war houses need most: flat roofs over extensions and garages, worn concrete tile roofs, and gutters and fascias.
£2 million public liability insurance
As a roofer covering Kidlington, I look after roofs in one of Oxfordshire's biggest villages, from the stone houses around St Mary's Church to the estates built since the war. The jobs these houses tend to need are new flat roofs over extensions and garages, re-roofs where the concrete tiles have had their day, and gutters. I'm Altin Lila, roofing since 2015 and based in Oxford.

Kidlington's houses: an old village and its post-war growth
Kidlington stayed a farming village until the 20th century. In the 1920s and 1930s houses went up in a ribbon along the main road, now the A4260, and since 1945 estate after estate has been built behind it on both sides. So most Kidlington roofs are post-war: concrete interlocking tiles on the main roof, and flat roofs over the garages, porches, extensions and box dormers added since.
Felt flat roofs from the 1960s and 70s are the weak point. Felt blisters and cracks in the sun, rainwater ponds on a deck that has sagged, and the leak appears in the ceiling under the extension. Re-covering in EPDM rubber or GRP fibreglass is the usual long-term answer: see my flat roofing page. Tiles on a main roof tend to age together, so when ridges and tiles are going all over, a new roof is worth pricing alongside the repair.
The old village is another matter. Church Street, the High Street and Mill Street form the Church Street conservation area, with stone houses around St Mary's and its tall spire. Further north, Thrupp's canal-side cottages sit in a conservation area of their own, and work on those roofs may need Cherwell District Council's consent.
Kidlington is about 7 miles north of Oxford, out along the Banbury Road. The visit and quote cost nothing.

Questions from Kidlington
Do you cover Kidlington, Yarnton and Begbroke?
Yes, I cover Kidlington, Yarnton and Begbroke, along with Thrupp, Gosford and Water Eaton. They're all part of the Oxfordshire I work across. If you're unsure your street is in reach, send your postcode and a photo of the roof by WhatsApp to 07306 077999.
What roofs are common in Kidlington?
Most Kidlington roofs are post-war pitched roofs in concrete interlocking tiles, with flat roofs over garages, extensions and dormers, because most of the village was built after 1945. The exceptions are the stone houses of the old village around Church Street and the canal cottages at Thrupp, which are older and sit in conservation areas.
Why does the ceiling under my flat-roofed extension leak?
Usually because the flat roof above has failed at a seam, at a split in the felt, or where it meets the house wall. Water can run along the deck before it drips, so the stain isn't always under the fault. On extensions from the 1960s and 70s the felt is often the original, and by now it's past patching.
