Look and quote
I look at the roof and quote for free, in writing. You pay the price we agreed. If I find more work once the job has started, I talk it through with you first.
Strip and prepare the deck
The old covering comes off into a skip to be taken away. Soft boards are replaced, and I fit the insulation over the deck as a warm roof.
Glue down the membrane
The sheet is folded back half at a time and bonded down, with the air pressed out.
Upstands, corners and trims
Edges go down with contact adhesive, upstands are turned up and flashed, and the trims fixed and sealed.
Final check and guarantee
Every edge and outlet gets checked, and your 20-year guarantee comes in writing, by email. I help you with the building control notification too.

An EPDM rubber roof is a flat roof covered with a sheet of synthetic rubber membrane, glued to a timber deck and finished with trims at the edges. The rubber stays flexible in frost and summer heat, so it copes with the deck moving slightly through the seasons.
How long does an EPDM roof last?
A well-fitted EPDM roof commonly lasts 20 years or more. What cuts it short is usually the detailing, not the rubber: a lifting trim, an upstand with no cover flashing, or water ponding in a dip in the deck.
Is EPDM good for a garage or extension roof?
Yes, EPDM is a good choice for most garage and extension roofs: they're small, rarely walked on and often close to walls and windows. The exceptions are a terrace, and a roof crowded with corners and pipes, where GRP is easier to detail.
