Roofer in Didcot
I cover Didcot, Great Western Park and Ladygrove for loose ridges and verges, gutters, flat roofs and repairs on the town's older terraced streets.
£2 million public liability insurance
As a roofer covering Didcot, I work across a town of two halves: the older streets around the station and the Broadway, and the big estates of Ladygrove and Great Western Park. Newer roofs here tend to need ridge, verge and gutter work, while the older terraces need traditional tile and slate repairs. I'm Altin Lila, roofing since 2015, and the visit and quote are free.

Didcot's roofs: railway-town streets and big new estates
Didcot grew up around the railway. The Great Western line arrived in 1839 and the station opened as a junction in 1844, and many of the town's older brick terraces and semis sit in the streets around it and the Broadway, often under slate or clay tile.
The town has spread fast since. Ladygrove, north of the railway, was started in the late 1980s, and Great Western Park on the west side added around 3,300 homes through the 2010s, across the line between South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse.
New-build roofs have their own weak points. Many have dry-fix ridges and verges, held with clips, screws and plastic caps instead of mortar, and on an exposed gable those fittings can loosen in high wind. Gutters on a new house are sometimes set with too little fall, so water sits and spills over at a joint. My guttering, fascias and soffits page covers the edges of the roof. If the house is only a few years old, look at its new-home warranty first: the FAQ below explains why.

Questions from Didcot
Do you cover Didcot and Great Western Park?
Yes, Didcot and Great Western Park are both in the area I cover, along with Ladygrove, Harwell, Blewbury and East Hagbourne. All of Oxfordshire is. Call or WhatsApp 07306 077999 with your street and, if you can, a photo of the problem, and I'll arrange a free visit.
My Didcot house is a new build: should I call the builder before a roofer?
Usually, yes. Most new homes come with a new-home warranty, often lasting 10 years, and in roughly the first two years the builder is normally the one who puts defects right, roof faults included. Check your warranty documents and the builder's aftercare terms before paying anyone. If it isn't covered, or the warranty has run out, I'll look at the roof for free and quote in writing.
Why do ridge and verge caps come loose on new-build roofs?
Mostly because they're held by clips, screws and plastic fittings rather than mortar, and on a windy, exposed edge those fixings can work loose or a cap can crack. A loose cap or verge unit is usually a small repair, but it's worth doing before the wind gets under the tiles next to it.
